Maintenance Technician II

This position is responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as performing carpentry duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical and facilities repair and maintenance, with 5-7 years of related work experience and knowledge equivalent to a 2-year technical college education.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC systems and overhead doors.
- Install new machinery and equipment, and remove old equipment as needed.
- Perform welding and fabrication activities, including MIG, ARC, cutting, and grinding.
- Repair and maintain air lines throughout the campus.
- Perform carpentry duties, including painting, repairing woodwork, drywall, and plaster.
- Repair plumbing fixtures and perform grounds duties, including grading and snow removal.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of mechanical and facilities repair and maintenance.
- 5-7 years of related work experience and knowledge equivalent to a 2-year technical college education.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to use good judgment and decision-making processes.
- Critical thinking ability, problem-solving sensitivity, and inductive reasoning skills.
- Ability to read and work from prints/drawings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate technical information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a wide variety of hand and power tools.
- Professionalism and a positive attitude, with the ability to maintain a positive attitude through periods of adversity and disagreement.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects efficiently.
- Self-motivation and trustworthiness, with the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
- Compliance with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Good attendance.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours and days worked (including Saturdays, as needed).
