Job Title: Maintenance Technician II

Join The Salvation Army team as a Maintenance Technician II, responsible for the upkeep and repair of our facilities, buildings, equipment, and systems.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician II will perform routine, preventive maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and facilities systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical, and fire and life safety systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine, preventive maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and facilities systems
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints
  • Responsible for all facilities, equipment, buildings, and grounds
  • Complete work orders as assigned and update work logs
  • Assist in identifying projects requiring careful planning or the services of an outside contractor
  • Check all lighting to ensure they are working properly and report any discrepancies to the manager
  • Maintain pool equipment and water quality
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Update SDS as required
  • Assist in maintaining designated properties in compliance with applicable local, state, and company rules, codes, and regulations
  • Report mechanical malfunctions to the facilities management staff
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years' experience performing facilities maintenance
  • Minimum of two years' working with HVAC or pool systems
  • At least two years' building management and work order systems experience
  • Ability to review and understand blueprint drawings
  • Basic knowledge of motors and electrical systems
  • Ability to work after hours operation
Working Conditions:

The Maintenance Technician II will work in a fast-paced environment, with regular exposure to inside and outside work in all types of weather. The employee will also be exposed to chemicals used while performing job duties.

Equipment Needs:

The Maintenance Technician II will use equipment normally used in construction, maintenance, and landscaping, including hedge trimmers, power floor cleaners, carpet shampoo machines, paint sprayers, power drain cleaners, chain saws, key machines, and chemicals associated with maintenance and landscaping.

Certificates and Licenses:

The candidate chosen for this position must have a valid driver's license and insured transportation and participation in The Salvation Army's Fleet Safety Program on an annual basis. Environmental Freon handling certification is desired.

Clearances:

The candidate chosen for this position will be required to pass a criminal history information check. Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude employment. The circumstances involved in the conviction(s) will be considered.
