Jefferson County is seeking a Resident Engineer Manager with expertise in engineering evaluations and construction oversight to enhance the Development & Transportation Division. The preferred candidate will hold a Colorado Professional Engineer license and possess experience in public sector engineering leadership or a deep understanding of CDOT's local agency protocols. Work Schedule:

This role offers flexibility with options for a four-day work week (Monday-Thursday) or a standard five-day work week (Monday - Friday), requiring at least one day in the office. The position includes travel to various job sites throughout Jefferson County.

Salary Range:

Annual Salary: $105,000 - $125,250 USD

Compensation will be based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage public works initiatives, traffic engineering, and operational activities.
  • Oversee engineering inspections related to land development compliance.
  • Administer Right-of-Way permits and inspections, including those for utilities and telecommunications.
  • Evaluate Grading Permits for stormwater management and erosion control measures.
  • Manage substantial Capital Improvement Program (CIP) construction contracts and oversee grant-funded project execution.
  • Review and authorize development-related documents and plans for regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders throughout project planning and execution.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, address routine personnel issues, and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Assess plans and specifications to ensure they meet regulatory standards.
  • Perform any additional assigned duties and responsibilities.

Candidate Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of five years of project management or engineering experience. A Colorado Professional Engineering certification is mandatory. Preferred qualifications include supervisory experience, design proficiency, familiarity with GIS/Spatial Analysis, and strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
