About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate After-School Literacy Program Coach to join our team at Read Better Be Better. As a Program Coach, you will play a vital role in facilitating our after-school reading program, guiding and mentoring a cohort of young Readers and youth Leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the literacy program, ensuring curriculum progress and promoting a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Train and mentor 4th/5th-grade "Leaders" in RBBB's curriculum to foster reading confidence skills in their Kindergarten/1st-grade "Readers".
  • Attend essential paid training and onboarding prior to starting at their assigned school.
  • Meet with Program Coaches from the same school district to share successes, address concerns, and receive needed materials.
  • Attend professional development workshops during the semester.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Preferred candidates are enrolled in a relevant degree program or have experience working with children in a school setting.
  • Classroom management skills and a patient personality are essential.
Work Schedule

A minimum of 5 hours per week is expected, with opportunities to substitute for other schools if interested in more working hours.

Location

You will be assigned to one of our partnering schools for the semester, with opportunities to work in multiple school districts.
