Key Responsibilities
  • Providing personalized patient care, using dental instruments to clean teeth and beneath margins of gums, while noting and reviewing patient medical history.
  • Conducting visual examinations of gums for signs of disease, sores, and other dental health issues, and recording dental decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentists.
  • Promoting preventative dental care to improve patient oral health, applying fluorides and other dental decay preventing agents, and working with dentists and dental assistants to maintain a dental hygiene program for patients.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree from an accredited Hygiene program.
  • A state hygiene license.
  • A current CPR certificate.
  • The ability to use an x-ray machine.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Comfortable using computers for various tasks.
  • In-depth knowledge of oral hygiene and dental health.
