Overview:
The Revenue Recognition & Analytics team operates as a Center of Excellence within the corporate finance division at Quest Diagnostics.

This department is accountable for ensuring the precision and reliability of reported revenue, patient concessions, bad debt, and related accounts receivable reserves.

Our objective is to deliver insightful analysis, financial reporting, and value-added services to protect the company's assets and enhance cash flow.

Revenue Recognition and Accounts Receivable Reserve management is classified as one of the Company's 'significant accounting policies' as outlined in the Company's SEC filings, necessitating a high level of judgment.


The Senior Revenue Analyst - Revenue Recognition & Analytics (RR&A) plays a pivotal role in supporting one of Quest's regions and/or other DIS businesses, overseeing essential elements of our Revenue Recognition Close Process.

The individual must adeptly handle a complex workload in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Regular interaction with business partners, including regional and billing team members, as well as colleagues from other centralized corporate finance functions, is expected.


We encourage our Senior Revenue Analysts to act as effective collaborators and service providers to other members of the RR&A team and their business partners by offering market-specific insights, standardized analytics, and consistent forecasting and budgeting assumptions, as applicable.


Responsibilities:
Assume full ownership and accountability for the recognition of revenue and associated receivable reserves for designated areas.
Evaluate receivables and related disallowances, patient price concessions, and bad debt reserves to inform decision-making and record relevant journal entries.

Develop, maintain, and disseminate reporting schedules.

Ensure a robust accounting control environment that meticulously manages internal controls and the integrity of financial statements.

Collaborate directly with key business partners.
Analyze and articulate significant trends while reporting monthly financial outcomes.

Contribute to monthly Revenue Analytics Reporting for Regional Leadership Teams (RFDs, General Managers, VP Commercial, VP Operations).

Actively engage in the revenue and volume forecasting and budgeting processes.

Serve as a valuable business partner to Regional Revenue Services and Finance personnel, participating in monthly billing and finance meetings. Collaboratively drive initiatives and propose solutions.

Recognizing that this centralized team serves multiple business partners, maintain agility, customer focus, and performance orientation. In the event of competing priorities, communicate transparently regarding prioritization and the rationale behind it.

Develop and uphold standardized best practices for revenue reporting and analysis.
Drive continuous improvement to ensure the highest quality outcomes.

Continuously reassess customer needs and respond promptly to evolving market dynamics.

Proactively identify trends and collaborate with stakeholders to investigate and take appropriate actions.


Integrate data from various groups, including Health Plan Finance, Regional finance and operations, Treasury, and Corporate Accounting, to create a comprehensive understanding of our Revenue Performance that yields meaningful insights.

Support M&A initiatives, audits, and other special projects as required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a large public accounting firm or corporate accounting function is essential.

Strong analytical and computer skills are necessary.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required.

CPA and/or MBA credentials are advantageous.
