Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutrition Specialist to join our team at Lifespan. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutritional care to patients throughout their lifespan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' nutritional needs and develop personalized nutrition plans of care.
  • Conduct thorough interviews with patients and/or family members to gather information about their medical history, dietary habits, and lifestyle.
  • Review electronic health records to identify potential nutrition-related problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients' progress, making adjustments to their nutrition plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on healthy eating habits, nutrition, and wellness.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based nutrition practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Completed ACEND-accredited supervised practice program and successfully passed the national examination for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • License as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in the state of Rhode Island (must be obtained within 3 months of hire).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to communicate complex nutrition information to patients and healthcare teams.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working a shift schedule. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
