Job Description

TAIT is seeking a highly skilled Control Engineer to join our team. As a Control Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and engineering controls solutions for projects, ensuring that TAIT's solutions are engineered to the highest levels of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify architecture and key controls technologies to meet project needs.
  • Understand automated systems and how various disciplines interact.
  • Write technical documentation to fulfill project requirements and for internal purposes.
  • Perform safety analysis to satisfy internal standards and external client requirements.
  • Develop custom PLC projects, HMIs, and software configurations when required for projects.
  • Research available products and solutions, and build and test prototypes when necessary.
  • Contribute to design reviews with productive feedback for peers.
  • Ensure smooth handover to fabrication and integration teams.
  • Promote and contribute to internal standards and processes.
  • Commission and formally test installed systems to ensure correct performance and satisfy client requirements.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required.
  • Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical Theater.
  • 1+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Creative problem-solver with proficiency in both theory and hands-on skills.
  • Experience with large, distributed control systems preferred.
  • Experience with closed-loop motion control preferred.
  • Understanding of functional safety standards preferred, including ISO12100, IEC 62061, and ISO 13849.
  • Familiarity with Beckhoff and Siemens control hardware and software preferred.
  • Knowledge of TAIT Navigator software, preferred.
Working Conditions

Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.

Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, safety toed shoes, and other PPE as required by the location.
