We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Unit Director to join our team at the Boys & Girls Club of the Mountain Empire. As a key contact person for parents, staff, teachers, and other stakeholders, you will be responsible for managing initial responses in crisis situations and providing regular clerical and administrative support to the Area Director.
Key Responsibilities- Function as a key contact person for parents, staff, teachers, and other stakeholders at the assigned BGCME site.
- Problem solve with stakeholders as needed.
- Relay messages to the Area Director in a timely manner.
- Manage initial responses in crisis situations and contact the Area Director as needed.
- Monitor and maintain site staff attendance and transmit attendance data to the Programs Director.
- Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development.
- Promote and stimulate program participation.
- Register new members and participate in their Club orientation process.
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
- Perform regular secretarial duties, preparing correspondence and reports as requested by the supervisor and composing draft letters following established formats.
- Maintain a master schedule of Club activities and events, collecting and disseminating information to Club staff, volunteers, members, and families as instructed.
- Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for drop-in members and visitors.
- Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs, and appearance of the branch at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports.
- Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly branch staff meetings.
- Answer telephones, providing general information, referring callers to other staff, or taking messages as necessary.
- Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems, ensuring they are accurate and timely and facilitate easy retrieval of information.
- Monitor office supply inventory and order supplies for the site and each program as necessary.
- Serve as site receptionist, greeting all visitors and assisting them as needed.
- Communicate with parents to address any past due invoices.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- College Degree or Equivalent with childcare (minimum 2 years).
- Background Check/Fingerprinting.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Ability to pass Drug Screen/TB Screen.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- Experience in working with children.
- Demonstrate creative, organizational, and project management abilities.
- Ability to deal effectively with members, including disciplinary issues.
- Demonstrated ability in relationship building and working with young people and parents.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to deal with the general public.
- Previous Data Entry Experience.
- Previous Supervisory experience.
