Job Title: Director I

The Director I is a key member of our production team, responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of live and taped studio, remote, and REMI productions. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct live and taped productions from the control room or mobile unit, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality output.
  • Coordinate and execute all aspects of scripted and unscripted shows, including lighting, camera blocking, visual effects, and graphics integration.
  • Provide clear and concise communication to all involved during each production, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues in real-time, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Collaborate with Coordinating Producers and Producers to develop content philosophy and execution, and coordinate show information with production and operational units.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor Associate Directors and Stage Managers, providing consistent and comprehensive written feedback on their performance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of directing or related experience, with in-depth knowledge and proficiency in live directing and production equipment.
  • Strong ability to think and react quickly to rapidly changing situations in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to direct most assigned productions and specialty shows, with a strong understanding of production concepts and editorial themes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual language skills (Spanish/English) are preferred.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in broadcasting, communications, journalism, or a closely related field is preferred.
