Position Overview:

The Security and Safety Specialist is responsible for safeguarding the property, guests, members, and staff while ensuring a premium customer experience. This role involves enforcing the Resort's policies and procedures while maintaining an upscale atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an extension of management in performing assigned duties.
  • Observe and report all activities both verbally and in writing.
  • Utilize computer systems and software for effective reporting.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the property and document any unsafe conditions.
  • Protect and preserve the property of the hotel, guests, and employees.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of emergency and life safety protocols.
  • Complete specific assigned tasks as needed.
  • Conduct investigations and safety inspections.
  • Secure the Resort premises.
  • Document incidents and assist in accident investigations.
  • Support guests and staff with access to secured areas in accordance with Resort policies.
  • Enforce hotel policies and respond to emergencies as per established procedures.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
  • Address customer service requests as necessary.
  • Assist with basic check-in and service requests in the absence of other departments.

Qualifications:

  • Must pass a background check with no serious criminal record and possess a safe driving history.
  • Must obtain a valid Food Handlers Certification and TIPS Alcohol Certification upon hire.
  • CPR Certification is preferred or must be obtained upon employment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage tense situations calmly and effectively.
  • Experience in hotel or resort settings is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Security or Loss Prevention is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Typing speed of at least 25 words per minute; 35 WPM preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet browsers is required.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required; some college education is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires regular standing, walking, and the ability to lift and move items up to 100 pounds. The employee may walk significant distances throughout the day and must have the ability to communicate effectively.

Compensation: $24.00/hr
