Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary estimated at $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k)/Retirement Savings, paid-time off/Holidays, and Career Path Opportunities.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Marine Construction Project Manager to join our team at Southwest Shipyard LP in Galveston focused on the construction of new barges and vessels.

  • Oversight and coordination of all aspects of new construction projects from initial design through final delivery ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Project planning and execution, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Budget management, monitoring project budgets, approving expenditures, and managing cost control measures.
  • Quality assurance, ensuring all construction meets rigorous quality standards, performing site inspections, and enforcing compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Scheduling and coordination, maintaining project timelines, overseeing daily operations, and managing internal and external resources.
Required Skills and Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Marine, Industrial, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering; equivalent experience will also be considered. Familiarity with CAD software, MS Project, or similar project management tools; experience with marine engineering practices and regulatory requirements. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Must have good judgment skills and a high-level work initiative. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision and as part of a team. Must have strong analytical skills and ability to interface with customers and all management levels. Able to understand and abide by all company rules, policies, and procedures.
