Salary Range

The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $100,000-$165,000, depending on experience and education level.

Job Description

The Photonics Test Engineer will perform hands-on work developing new test setups for and performing measurements in Silicon Photonics and Packaging area within the EPDA/Design Enablement group based on-site at Albany.

  • Design of test setups and hands-on measurements on electronic and photonic components.
  • Analyze measured data, extract key device parameters, and report conclusions to internal and external customers.
  • Development of running software programs and scripts for measurements.
  • Manage purchases and interact with vendors for resolving equipment issues and maintenance.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A BS/MS in engineering or equivalent engineering and/or science discipline from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • At least 7+ years of relevant industry experience with prior demonstrated experience in hands-on laboratory work in a test environment.
Preferred Requirements

Candidates with the following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • A Ph.D. in engineering or equivalent engineering and/or science discipline from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • Experience developing electro-optic test setups in visible, NIR region.
  • Experience with test and measurement using automated provers, and chip-level setups, working in a test environment in a foundry, interacting with customers, equipment vendors, and coordinating projects.
