Job Summary:
Technical Program Manager (NORDTECH)The Technical Program Manager position requires exceptional leadership, organization, and coordination skills to support our project management activities for NORDTECH technical projects. This role involves project planning, execution, customer engagement, and stakeholder management, working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to ensure completion of project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate planning, execution, and delivery of hardware managed through NORDTECH project awards.
- Partner with technical leads to define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and milestones, schedules, stakeholders, resource needs, dependencies, budgets, and risks, ensuring appropriate contracts are executed with customers.
- Utilize project management best practices and resources to monitor project deliverables and schedule, measure project performance and progress throughout execution, document project activities, issues, and results, identifying and implementing needed adjustments to meet project deliverables.
- Coordinate and facilitate project team meetings.
- Manage communications to customers, including coordination of agreements and Export Control paperwork relevant to project work.
- Provide summarized project plan documentation and reporting to leadership, customers, and other stakeholders as required.
- Collaborate with project teams on program needs and assist technical leads in translating strategic objectives into actionable projects and deliverables, ensuring successful delivery of projects that create value and align with NY CREATES' mission and goals.
- Recommend techniques to improve productivity and increase operational efficiency and organizational effectiveness.
- Analyze key performance indicators to drive improved results, providing detailed analysis, identifying risks and opportunities, and addressing weaknesses or execution issues if required.
- Compile and prepare accurate reports, graphs, and charts of data using program-specific customer relationship management (CRM) and project management tools, where applicable.
- Work with finance to collect and analyze data, evaluating and maintaining program and project financial models, budgets, and forecasts related to project deliverables.
- Provide regular financial analysis and fiscal-related reporting to leadership, customers, and other stakeholders as required.
- Allocate financial resources for assigned projects and initiatives, pursuant to project work and budgets.
- Oversight of vendor contracts, payments, and negotiation of terms and pricing relevant to project work.
- Review expenditures, including personnel and other than personnel services, relevant to project work.
- Implement financial controls and policies per contract or sponsored program requirements.
- Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to colleagues to ensure goals, programs, activities, and personnel practices are consistent with and contribute to NY CREATES' mission and goals.
- Engage in continual learning to remain abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent relevant professional experience is required. 7+ years of professionally responsible experience in project management managing technical projects, 5+ years' experience navigating complex organizational structures, collaborating with technical and business teams, and strong communication skills are essential. A basic understanding of semiconductor industry, IC manufacturing process, and process technologies is also required.
Preferred Requirements:
PMP Certification, MS in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or BS/MS in Engineering Sciences or Advanced Engineering Sciences from an accredited institution or equivalent relevant professional experience, and a basic understanding of photonics and quantum-focused applications are preferred. Experience working in a semiconductor foundry and sound technical understanding of semiconductor industry, IC manufacturing process, and process technologies are also desired.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
