Key Responsibilities:
The primary function of this role is to oversee the custodial operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and service in lodging facilities. As a working leader, your duties will include:
  • Distributing and managing workloads among team members.
  • Monitoring ongoing work to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Training and mentoring new staff members.
  • Addressing unresolved employee concerns and operational challenges with management.
  • Providing feedback on employee performance and potential disciplinary matters.
  • Documenting maintenance and repair needs in accordance with established procedures.
  • Reporting safety violations to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
  • Updating the database with information regarding room status, occupancy, and housekeeping reports.
  • Ensuring adequate supplies of cleaning materials and equipment are available.

Additionally, you will assist custodial staff in selecting and utilizing cleaning agents effectively and safely, guiding them in organizing their tasks efficiently.

Your role will also involve performing custodial duties as required, which includes cleaning guest rooms, common areas, and facilities. Specific tasks may include:

  • Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors using appropriate equipment.
  • Dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture.
  • Emptying waste receptacles and replacing soiled linens with clean ones.
  • Completing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead a team of custodial workers effectively. Required qualifications include:
  • Proven experience in housekeeping operations, preferably in a military or commercial lodging environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning principles and practices.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items.
