Assistive Technology Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistive Technology Assistant to join our team at UCP of Western Massachusetts. As an Assistive Technology Assistant, you will play a critical role in helping individuals with disabilities and other service needs live life without limits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Assistive Technology Specialists to set up and tailor assistive technology solutions
  • Maintain and repair assistive technology devices
  • Enter daily case notes for billing
  • Pick up and/or drop off assistive technology devices as needed
  • Attend outreach events, including driving to locations, setting up tables, conducting demonstrations on assistive technology devices, and breaking down table setups
  • Research new assistive technology vendors and products
  • Manage the UCP IT ticketing system
  • Function as a member of the UCP interdisciplinary team
  • Attend regular weekly staff meetings and other meetings required by the Director of the ATRC and Technical Support
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information relative to the individuals with disabilities we serve
  • Apply agency administrative policies and procedures, including safety, health, emergency, and individual rights
  • Assist with any UCP activities as requested
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma with an Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) / Information Technology certificate or other related education
  • Knowledge of different assistive technology devices and equipment used by people with disabilities, strongly preferred
  • Orient and train individuals with disabilities and/or their support network in the use of assistive technology solutions
  • Ability to move and/or carry small to midsize equipment (portable ramps, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.)
  • Knowledge in IT ticketing systems
  • Ability to attend ATRC outreach events, demonstrations, trainings, technical assistance
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of members and ATRC outreach events
  • Knowledge of community social services, education, and health service agencies
  • Valid driver's license, availability of private vehicle, up-to-date car insurance
  • Knowledgeable of Apple Products/Systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Office 365 and word processing skills
  • Comfortable with remote applications such as Zoom, Teams, or TeamViewer
  • Satisfactory CORI, SORI, DPPC, and National Fingerprint Background Check
