Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care by accurately registering patients, verifying insurance coverage, and collecting required payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service and Patient Flow
    • Accurately and efficiently register patients in our electronic medical record system, ensuring that patient information is up-to-date and accurate.
    • Monitor and manage patient schedules to ensure timely and efficient patient flow.
    • Review patient accounts to determine financial responsibility and arrange payment plans as needed.
    • Assist patients with access to government and community resources to enhance their access to healthcare services.
    • Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to ensure that referrals to other providers or services are completed in a timely manner.
    • Facilitate patient access to information, including MyChart access.
    • Accurately update patient records as needed.
    • Accurately enter and update charges as necessary.
  • Clinic Operations
    • Support clinic, hospital, and health system initiatives related to improving day-to-day operations.
    • Manage cash in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure accurate payment crediting and secure cash handling.
    • Meet site collection goals.
  • Performance Excellence
    • Support the organization's performance excellence initiatives.
    • Perform duties in a manner that results in improved patient outcomes and patient satisfaction scores.
    • Support the organization's Culture of Excellence by suggesting improvements to the patient experience and environment of care.
    • Provide quality training and orientation for other team members when assigned.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
    • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • 6 months experience in a customer service/front desk role or a graduate of a front office/medical office program.
  • Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
  • High School or equivalent education.
  • Professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task, critical thinking, demonstrated computer literacy, and ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in Epic during the introductory period.
