Emergency Medicine Toxicology Physician Faculty Member

The University of New Mexico, Department of Emergency Medicine, is seeking a full-time physician faculty member with training in Medical Toxicology. This individual will support our EM residency program, provide clinical care in both our academic and community hospital facilities, and join other board-certified faculty Medical Toxicologists to support and advance the goals of the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center.
Responsibilities- Support the EM residency program and provide clinical care in both academic and community hospital facilities.
- Join other board-certified faculty Medical Toxicologists to support and advance the goals of the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center.
- Collaborate with other department members to advance the goals of the department.
- Participate in educational and research activities to support the department's mission.
- MD/DO or equivalent degree.
- Completion of a fellowship in Medical Toxicology.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology.
- 3-5 years of directly related experience, including residency and fellowship.
- State of New Mexico Medical license or equivalent and Federal DEA Certification at time of hire.
- Training and experience in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry.
- Clinical skills relevant to Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology.
- Effective communication skills to work with physicians, patients, and other health professionals, as well as with multi-lingual populations.
- Commitment to community engagement and activities.
- Interest or experiences in scholarly, educational, or administrative work, including coaching and mentoring.
- Personal and professional alignment with the values of the Department and the UNM School of Medicine.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
