Pediatric Emergency Medicine Faculty

The University of New Mexico is seeking a board-certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine faculty member to join our growing Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on clinical work, academic missions, and community engagement.
This faculty position will participate in the excellent Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship and Emergency Medicine Residency programs. The successful candidate will also support a strong, community-engaged teaching and research program.
About the PositionThe UNM Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division has 12 full-time and part-time Pediatric Emergency Medicine attending physicians and supports an outstanding Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship. We are part of a large and innovative Department of Emergency Medicine.
The Pediatric Emergency Department is a 12-bed facility and has an annual census of 25,000 visits. We serve children and families across the Southwest.
Responsibilities- Participate in clinical work, academic missions, and community engagement.
- Support a strong, community-engaged teaching and research program.
- Participate in the excellent Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship and Emergency Medicine Residency programs.
- Collaborate with the UNM Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division and the Department of Emergency Medicine.
The ideal candidate will have:
- An MD/DO or equivalent.
- Completed a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine or Pediatrics, and in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
- 3 to 5 years of directly related experience, including time spent in residency and fellowship.
- A State of New Mexico Medical license or equivalent and Federal DEA Certification at time of hire.
