Faculty Position in Medicine/Infectious Diseases

We are seeking an outstanding applicant at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor to join the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. The successful candidate will establish and develop an innovative and independent research program that will attract and maintain extramural funding from government agencies, private foundations, and industry.
Responsibilities- Teach in the Medical College of Georgia and/or the School of Graduate Studies and mentor graduate students.
- Establish a vigorous independent extramurally funded research program to complement research strengths and goals of the Department of Medicine and the University.
- Participate on various committees and provide public and professional service to the community and the department/college/University/USG.
- Board Eligible, Board Certified, and a MD, PhD, or equivalent appropriate degree commensurate with role.
- Assistant Professor: Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
- Associate Professor: Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
- Professor: Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
- Doctoral degree in biomedical related disciplines from an accredited college or university.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated human research experience (publications in peer-reviewed journals, and extramural funding).
- Should have extramural funding and demonstrate potential for its continuation.
This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
