About the Role:

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Children and Families is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the critical role of Social Work Technician. As a key member of our team, you will support DCF Social Workers in providing essential services to children and families in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with DCF social workers, supervisors, and managers to develop and implement action plans that promote casework direction.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Transport children to appointments and supervise visits between children and family members as directed.
  • Maintain effective communication with DCF staff, community partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct collateral calls to health, social service providers, schools, and law enforcement agencies as needed.
  • Participate in supervision, staff meetings, and in-service training to enhance professional development.
  • Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the community, with clients, schools, courts, and referring agencies.

Licenses and Certifications:

Based on assignment, a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's license or equivalent from another state may be required.

Work Environment:

The Department of Children and Families operates offices in various locations, including Berkshire, Greenfield, Holyoke, Van Wart, and Springfield.
