Manson Construction Co. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team for a summer internship in marine equipment yard operations and estimating. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, rotating between engineering and estimating positions to gain a well-rounded knowledge of marine and heavy civil construction, and dredging.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in reporting daily activities of construction or yard operations crews
- Conduct cost and implementation comparisons of as-built construction activities to as-bid estimates
- Track quantities and develop project work element plans and hazard analysis
- Use computer-aided drafting for analysis of equipment capabilities and depiction of work methods
- Coordinate with project foremen and superintendents to write work procedures for activities
- Assist in estimating assignments, including quantity takeoffs, reading job-specific specifications, and subcontractor and supplier coordination
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and document collaboration tools
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and scheduling software
The work environment for this internship will be fast-paced and dynamic, with opportunities to work in various settings, including construction sites and office environments. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
