Job Summary

Manson Construction Co. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team for a summer internship in marine equipment yard operations and estimating. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, rotating between engineering and estimating positions to gain a well-rounded knowledge of marine and heavy civil construction, and dredging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in reporting daily activities of construction or yard operations crews
  • Conduct cost and implementation comparisons of as-built construction activities to as-bid estimates
  • Track quantities and develop project work element plans and hazard analysis
  • Use computer-aided drafting for analysis of equipment capabilities and depiction of work methods
  • Coordinate with project foremen and superintendents to write work procedures for activities
  • Assist in estimating assignments, including quantity takeoffs, reading job-specific specifications, and subcontractor and supplier coordination
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and document collaboration tools
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and scheduling software
