The Role

Wayve is seeking a knowledgeable, innovative, and resourceful Lead Automotive Technician with extensive experience and a broad skill set. The ideal candidate should be proactive and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and prioritize the manufacturing and testing schedule within the workshop.
  • Provide regular updates on progress and communicate any delays or concerns to stakeholders and management.
  • Monitor the operation and upkeep of workshop tools, equipment, and vehicles, scheduling routine maintenance and repairs to ensure peak performance.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to construct high-quality AV vehicles, benches, HILs, and rigs for effective testing and development.
  • Manage and assist with ad hoc tasks for internal key stakeholders, including software, electrical, mechanical, and safety teams, to ensure swift problem resolution and effective communication of issues.
  • Maintain accurate manufacturing documentation and records, including hardware and software updates.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance workshop operations and manufacturing efficiency.
About You

To ensure your success as a Lead Automotive Technician at Wayve, we are looking for the following qualifications and experience:

Essential:
  • Extensive experience in vehicle development and prototype assembly, from complete vehicles to individual components.
  • Thorough understanding of vehicle architecture and operation of supporting equipment.
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining prototype vehicles, with the ability to contribute to component and system fault diagnosis.
  • Proficiency in fabrication and basic machining skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical drawings.
Desirable:
  • Experience with Autonomous Vehicles.
  • A strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
