Wayve is a leading developer of Embodied AI technology, pioneering the creation of autonomy that propels the world forward. Our advanced AI software and foundation models enable vehicles to perceive, understand, and navigate complex environments, enhancing the usability and safety of automated driving systems.
The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Embedded Automotive Platforms Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Embedded Automotive Platforms team, you will contribute to the creation of a software platform that interfaces with the automobile's embedded hardware. Your role will involve developing abstractions and APIs that enable our software and robotics teams to deploy AV software efficiently.
You will play a crucial role in advancing Wayve's AV technology, driving the efficiency, maintainability, and scalability of the embedded systems that underpin our autonomous vehicles. Your contributions will have a significant impact on the development of our autonomous driving systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain software to enable full sensor integration and data capture at scale and quality necessary for a fully autonomous vehicle.
- Deliver and maintain soft-real-time Linux-based applications to a fleet of embedded devices on automobiles, including data collection and storage as well as machine learning inference on the edge.
- Create robust, fault-tolerant software solutions with comprehensive system diagnostics to quickly and efficiently resolve any issues preventing our deployed fleet from operating at maximum capacity.
- Design, implement, and use system monitoring tools to improve performance and resolve both ad-hoc and systemic issues.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Embedded Automotive Platforms Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded software development, preferably in the automotive or autonomous driving industry. You will have proficiency in the C++ programming language and experience with embedded operating systems (e.g., Linux, QNX, RTOS). Familiarity with hardware abstraction layers and device driver development is also essential.
You will have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment is a must. Prior experience developing and deploying autonomous vehicle software on commercial automobiles is desirable, as is experience with NVIDIA Drive Orin platform or similar automotive computing platforms.
What We OfferAt Wayve, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development. We operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships, and learning, and time spent working from home.
