Job Summary

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team in Fairfax, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate radiographic, processing, and inventory equipment in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR) with precision and safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdepartmental units to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Collect and analyze data pre- and post-procedure to optimize imaging quality.
  • Prepare patients for procedures in CVIR with attention to detail and compassion.
  • Participate in unit assignment quality assurance projects to drive excellence.
  • Provide high-quality imaging using various modalities, including neurovascular and endovascular angiography examinations.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of equipment and ability to share information with peers.
  • Direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serving as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.
  • Ability to provide a departmental charge role by triaging workflow, assigning rooms, and staffing for daily cases.
  • Advanced knowledge of sterile techniques and assistance/support during procedures.
  • Notification of potential safety hazards and follow-through on corrective decisions.
  • Recognition of adverse clinical situations and assistance to other personnel.
  • Assistance to RNs in explaining procedures to patients and families to ease anxiety.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Basic Life Support Instructor and American Board of Radiology - Diagnostic Medical Physics BLS, ARRT, Vascular Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular (CV).
  • Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia (if applicable).
  • Five years of work experience as a Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Technologist.
  • Vocational / Technical Radiologic Technology Graduate of an accredited school of Radiography.
