Description: We are seeking a compassionate senior living professional to join our team at Fieldstone at Chester Springs. As a memory care activities assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and oversight of activities that promote a level of health, well-being, engagement, and growth for our residents. You will model New Directions TM, Vantage Point Retirement Living's exclusive memory care program, which focuses on evidence and research-based programming. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors and a willingness to learn and grow with our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and conducting programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities for residents.
  • Encourage and invite residents to participate in activities.
  • Help plan appropriate programs for holidays and special events.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure equipment and supplies are available for activities and events.
  • Plan and facilitate mixed group activities.
  • Maintain activity areas in an orderly manner.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of activity supplies, games, and craft services.
  • Oversee daily care of animals and/or plants within the activities program.
  • Assist in preparing and organizing a calendar of events.
  • Distribute the community newsletter.
  • Meet with new residents to introduce the program.
  • Assist Director in leadership of wellness program.
  • Help manage volunteer staff.
  • Address resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest.
  • Help maintain a database on resident assessments, participation, and satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to three years' experience preferred in assisted living, long term care, or experience/exposure to the senior population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, speaking the primary language of the residents.
  • Ability to use software to design calendars and signs; use email and the Internet.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
