Overview:
Apex Systems is collaborating with a prominent manufacturing client in search of a Lead Automation Engineer. This role is focused on providing onsite technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
The Engineering Lead for Automation will oversee the Systems Engineering team, ensuring the effective management of business and manufacturing systems, along with their supporting infrastructure. Responsibilities encompass:

  • Planning, executing, and maintaining manufacturing, administrative, packaging, facilities, utilities, and laboratory systems technologies.
  • Leading the development and execution of a framework for Computerized Systems Validation (CSV) in alignment with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

People Management:
This role includes ensuring that team members are adequately trained in necessary procedures and fostering an environment that encourages employee involvement and proactive reporting of workplace deviations.

Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS):
Adhering to EHS policies and promoting a safe work environment is crucial. Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the site’s waste reduction and recycling initiatives.
  • Engaging in energy conservation efforts.
  • Monitoring EHS performance and addressing unsafe conditions promptly.

Area Responsibilities:
The Lead Engineer will manage System Engineering at the manufacturing facility, supporting operations through the strategic deployment of information technology. Key tasks include:

  • Developing and implementing business plans for continuous improvement in technology utilization.
  • Administering the Systems Engineering budget and forecasts.
  • Providing technical support across all departments, ensuring operational efficiency.

Project Management:
Overseeing engineering projects, including:

  • Evaluating new systems and equipment.
  • Managing project documentation and compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinating activities and ensuring timely completion of objectives.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 8-10 years in automated/control systems within the pharmaceutical sector.
Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Good Manufacturing Practices, and a solid understanding of computer system validation.
