Orthopedic Surgical Patient Care Technician

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in our Orthopedic Surgical Unit. As a PCT, you will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting the patient care team in achieving exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other patient information as outlined by policy.
- Assist with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients, and assist with the use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
- Collect and process specimens for diagnostic or waived tests, ensuring accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination, and change bed linens as needed.
- Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the licensed nurse.
- CNA Training Program preferred
- 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- High School Graduate/GED
