Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse in our Orthopedic Surgical unit, you will provide direct patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. You will also educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with our interdisciplinary team.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Collaborate with our team to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence.
Requirements
- RN licensed in the state of Texas or a compact state.
- BCLS certification.
- Completion of RN/LVN program leading to licensure.
- Read and write basic English with the basic skills necessary to understand and transfer physician's orders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred experience as a Registered Nurse in an orthopedic surgical unit.
- Preferred BSN degree.
- Specialty certification or training in orthopedic nursing.
- Ability to move an excess of 100 pounds with assistance from other staff.
- Effective communication skills, both orally and written.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with others to ensure quality patient care.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
