Embedded Systems Software Engineer
Our client is in search of a skilled professional with expertise in software development for embedded systems. The Body Control Software team is responsible for creating software that manages various vehicle functionalities, including ignition, locking mechanisms, lighting systems, alarms, window operations, powered enclosures, climate control, and seating adjustments. Individuals in this role will engage in the complete software development lifecycle, which encompasses designing software architecture, ensuring quality through testing, and deploying software solutions that align with customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software applications tailored to customer requirements.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Participate in design reviews and assist in resolving technical issues related to vehicle and breadboard systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of software requirements and functional specifications.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in project management.
- Strong understanding of embedded hardware and software design principles.
- Knowledge of control theory and algorithm development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Matlab Simulink, JIRA, JAMA, and GitHub.
- Familiarity with CANalyzer, AutoSAR, and Functional Safety concepts.
- Understanding of CAN and LIN vehicle communication networks.
- Knowledge of functional safety standards and cybersecurity measures.
- Experience in collaboration with Electronic Control Manufacturers is a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years in engineering roles.
- At least 3 years of experience in algorithm design for embedded systems.
- 3+ years of experience with control theory and algorithm design using truth tables and finite state machines.
- 1+ years of experience with vehicle networks (CAN/LIN).
- 1+ years of experience utilizing Matlab/Simulink.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience in algorithm design for embedded systems.
- 5+ years of experience with control theory and algorithm design.
- Familiarity with JAMA, JIRA, and GitHub.
- Experience with CANalyzer, AutoSAR, SOA, and Functional Safety.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Experience working with or for an electronics control manufacturer.
Work Arrangement: This position offers a hybrid work model.
