Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Technical Lead to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a Staff Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the evolution of Vehicle Controls software, leading the technical solutions for the team to develop a software architecture implementation to meet all the real-time needs of the embedded system.

Responsibilities
  • Develop architecture migration support for AUTOSAR Basic Software and Application Software in legacy and new software components
  • Lead ECU optimization through analyzing software component resource usage for core load balancing and interface coherency
  • Lead AUTOSAR BSW delivery meeting Functional Safety requirements (MPU), run time limits, and system resource (Ram/Rom) limits for TC39xx ECU
  • Support architecture analysis for new interfaces via communication networks, other I/O communication to the BSW as well as inter module system interfaces
  • Lead the Basic Software issue resolution and troubleshooting using priority triage process to focus on high priority issue resolution
  • Directly engage in writing code and participate in code and test case reviews
  • Conduct software verification, including unit and integration testing, as needed
  • Take full ownership of projects, making key design and implementation decisions independently while mentoring junior team members
  • Be a proactive and energetic leader in a dynamic team environment
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education
  • 10+ years of relevant software development experience in embedded systems
  • 3+ Experience with CI/CD technologies
  • 3+ years of experience in configuring Classic AUTOSAR BSW components and debugging/troubleshooting embedded software on target hardware
  • 5+ years of RTOS/OSEK Operating systems experience
