Post-Operative Care Specialist

Job Description:Responsibilities:
  • Assess physical, psychological, spiritual, cultural, educational, and developmental dimensions of patients from admission through discharge.
  • Develop individualized plans of care based on nursing assessments, medical diagnoses, knowledge of specific illnesses, injuries, diseases, surgical procedures, and standards of care.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and departments to maximize patient outcomes and facilitate smooth post-operative experiences.
  • Implement care and supplies according to individualized plans, identified needs, and timely manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of special needs for various age groups when providing resources for the post-operative experience.
  • Function within the limits of the MN Nurse Practice Act, State and Federal Laws, Excel Program Department philosophies, policies, and procedures, and standards of care.
  • Administer medications and solutions as ordered, apply principles of aseptic technique, standard and transmission precautions.
  • Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition or behavior, document patient information accurately, and foster development and education of self, colleagues, and students.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an NLN-accredited school of registered nursing.
  • Current licensure as a RN in the State of MN or WI multi-state required.
  • Two years of post-operative care or critical care nursing experience in the last 3-5 years preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required or completed upon hire.
Salary and Benefits:

Estimated salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
