Job Summary:
The Cafeteria Operator is responsible for delivering appealing and nutritious meals in a clean, efficient, and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare designated breakfast and lunch meals according to established guidelines.
  2. Adhere to specified recipes to maintain quality, portion control, and nutritional standards.
  3. Serve well-presented menu items in a courteous manner.
  4. Implement sanitation and food safety protocols as outlined by the food service nutrition program.
  5. Participate in a sanitation training course and refresher courses as required.
  6. Complete safety training related to kitchen operations.
  7. Fulfill job responsibilities in assigned areas, which may include cashiering, baking, maintaining the dish room, record keeping, food storage, and kitchen cleanliness.
  8. Follow directions from cafeteria management with minimal supervision.
  9. Physical Effort: Regularly lift or move objects weighing between 30 to 50 pounds, and perform various physical tasks.
  10. Working Conditions: Operate in a bustling kitchen environment with varying temperatures and potential hazards.
  11. Equipment Operation: Safely use kitchen equipment and ensure proper cleaning and maintenance.
  12. Adhere to the dress code, including approved uniforms and appropriate footwear.
Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by cafeteria management.

Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma.
  2. Previous experience in school food service is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Specific vision and hearing capabilities are necessary for the role.
  • Manual dexterity for data entry and communication is required.
