Job Overview

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role within Ingersoll Rand's Record to Report (RTR) North America Team, which is part of our Finance Shared Service Center (FSSC) group. This position, based at our Group Headquarters, encompasses a range of general accounting responsibilities, collaboration with offshore RTR colleagues, and a continuous drive for process enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee precise and timely monthly closures for US GAAP reporting.
  • Prepare and assess accurate journal entries in the General Ledger, including but not limited to monthly expense accruals, commission adjustments, account/cost center corrections, and payroll reporting.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of balance sheet activities and the documentation supporting those balances, often requiring communication with non-RTR colleagues.
  • Analyze accounts, balances, and trends to deliver actionable insights to business units and leaders, identifying potential or existing issues for resolution.
  • Review current processes to ensure they meet operational needs, suggesting improvements and facilitating implementation as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to offshore RTR colleagues, serving as an escalation point for raised issues, and offering training and coaching as a subject matter expert for processes and ERP challenges.
  • Share knowledge and insights with team members and the broader FSSC.
  • Prepare various monthly, quarterly, and annual information requests to meet Corporate, Audit, and Tax reporting requirements, assisting other departments with accounting-related issues and data needs.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA and/or MBA is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Preferred experience with SAP ECC/Oracle R12.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to thrive under tight and changing deadlines, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
  • Team-oriented, capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across various locations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities.
  • Exhibits a compliance-focused mindset, recognizing the significance of policies and procedures.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Positioned in Davidson, NC, with flexible working arrangements, hybrid model, and occasional travel to other domestic sites and internationally.

  • Familiarity with BlackLine, HFM, MS Office, Oracle R12, SAP ECC.
