Exciting Opportunity for a Registered Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to enhance your expertise in both Internal Medicine and Family Practice. This position offers a dynamic work environment with a supportive team of healthcare professionals. Typical clinic hours range from 7 AM to 5/6 PM, with shifts generally lasting 8-9 hours. Flexibility is essential as you will assist in covering increased scheduling demands and staff vacations. While prior experience is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes the nursing process to deliver continuous patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Monitors and reacts to changes in patient conditions and needs, prioritizing care based on critical patient requirements.
  • Provides triage and consultation services to patients and their families, adhering to established protocols and organizational guidelines. Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team members, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient conditions.
  • Prepares patients for examinations by collecting vital signs and updating relevant health information, including chief complaints and medication histories.
  • Conducts laboratory tests (e.g., strep tests, wound cultures) following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assists healthcare providers during various procedures and surgeries.
  • Administers medications as per physician orders, including immunizations and other treatments, while managing IV therapy and medication mixing according to established protocols.
  • Delivers comprehensive patient education and counseling on treatment plans and self-care, ensuring follow-up on necessary procedures, prescription refills, and referrals.
  • Performs advanced clinical tasks, such as catheterization and complex wound care, demonstrating competency under clinical supervision.
  • Contributes to staff training and educational initiatives, serving as a clinical resource and providing guidance to other team members.
  • Maintains and organizes clinical environments, ensuring exam rooms and work areas are clean, stocked, and well-equipped.
  • Conducts routine maintenance and quality checks on clinic equipment, adhering to proper cleaning and sterilization protocols.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles across the lifespan.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Must possess a Registered Nurse license valid in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required within six months of employment unless exempted by department leadership.

Educational Background:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.

Experience:

  • No prior experience is necessary.

  • Ability to make independent, critical decisions effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including delegation and team building.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including electronic medical records and email communication.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform various physical activities, including lifting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 40 lbs over reasonable distances.
  • Frequent exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards, requiring appropriate protective gear.
  • Must possess functional speech, vision, hearing, and tactile abilities to perform job duties effectively.
