Exciting Opportunity for a Registered Nurse
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to enhance your expertise in both Internal Medicine and Family Practice. This role offers a chance to be part of a collaborative team of healthcare professionals, where each day presents unique challenges and experiences. The clinic operates typically from 7 AM to 5/6 PM, with shifts generally lasting 8-9 hours. We are looking for an RN who is adaptable and willing to assist with increased scheduling demands and staff absences. While prior experience is preferred, it is not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes the nursing process to deliver continuous patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Recognizes and reacts to changes in patient conditions and care requirements, prioritizing care based on essential patient needs.
- Provides triage and consultation to patients, families, and significant others in accordance with established protocols and organizational guidelines. Engages in effective communication with physicians and other healthcare team members, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient conditions.
- Prepares patients for examinations by collecting vital signs and updating relevant health information, including chief complaints, allergies, and medications.
- Conducts laboratory procedures, such as strep tests and specimen collection, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assists physicians with various procedures and surgeries.
- Administers medications as per physician orders, including immunizations and narcotics, and manages IV therapy in compliance with established protocols.
- Educates and counsels patients on treatment plans and self-care, integrating health promotion and preventive care into practice. Ensures follow-up on necessary procedures, prescription refills, and referrals.
- Performs advanced clinical tasks, including suture removal and catheterization, under clinical supervision, demonstrating competency in all required skills.
- Contributes to the development and execution of staff training and educational initiatives, serving as a clinical resource for colleagues.
- Maintains and organizes exam rooms and work areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper supply management.
- Conducts routine maintenance and quality checks on clinic equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Demonstrates the ability to provide age-appropriate care, understanding the principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
Licensure and Certification:
- Must possess a Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required within six months unless exempted by department leadership.
Educational Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
Experience:
- No prior experience is necessary.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Proven ability to make independent, critical decisions effectively.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including delegation and team collaboration.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform various physical activities, including lifting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and carry up to 40 lbs over a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force and perform sliding transfers with assistance.
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards is expected, requiring appropriate protective equipment.
