Electrical Safety Specialist Opportunity

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Safety Specialist to join our team in our Plano, TX office. This is an exciting opportunity to grow a versatile career in electrical product safety testing

Our Electrical team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification for a variety of electric products, including appliances, consumer electronics, lighting, medical devices, information communications technology, HVACR, industrial, and energy transmission and distribution. Our dedicated professionals help ensure the quality, safety, and sustainability of electrical products used by people throughout the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to routine testing, maintenance, or clean-up.
  • Set up test apparatus and perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
  • Provide an exceptional customer experience to all customers throughout the onsite testing.
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner, including appearance and attitude.
  • Diligent safety practices, knowledge of OSHA standards, and use of safety equipment as required by management.
  • Work closely with lead/crew members and take direction to complete projects within certain policies and procedures.
  • Daily cleanup and maintenance of projects, work equipment, work site, vehicles, and organize all tools and materials.
  • Perform site survey activities with a team and independently.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools.
  • Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
  • Must be customer-focused and quality-driven.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Trade school certification or Associate's degree in a technical field.
  • 7+ years of relatable experience.
  • OSHA safety certification.
  • Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of product safety standards.
  • Experience with product safety testing or certification.
