Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Safety Officer to join our team at Wor-Wic Community College. As a Public Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our campus community. This is a part-time position, approximately 25 hours per week, with intermittent weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol the campus by foot and vehicle, responding to emergencies and incidents as needed.
  • Conduct security checks on all campus buildings, including opening and securing buildings and classrooms, and activating and de-activating the alarm system.
  • Enforce parking regulations and issue parking tickets as necessary.
  • Respond to emergencies, providing CPR and AED response when needed.
  • Direct students to student parking areas and assist with jumpstarts and unlocking vehicles as needed.
  • Write necessary reports as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of experience in law enforcement or security.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Inventory management skills.
  • Satisfactory completion of a medical examination demonstrating the ability to respond to emergency situations.
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug test with satisfactory results.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • AED/CPR and first aid certifications.
  • Satisfactory criminal and child protective services background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in defensive weapons tactics, handcuffs, capsicum spray, and baton usage.
