Our flagship product is an enterprise SaaS solution designed for supply chain management in aircraft fleet maintenance. This innovative product is centered around proprietary AI Engines, facilitating seamless integration of customer data.

The company has secured significant repeat business from the US Air Force Supply Chain operations, supporting the largest aircraft fleet in the world. We aim to capitalize on our successful military customer product to drive substantial growth in the near term, with a potential M&A exit in the medium term. We are recognized as a technology leader in Enterprise AI for supply chain, with strong customer demand and a high likelihood of rapid success.

Position Overview

The 'Rocket Science' processes integral to our mission-critical Explainable AI (xAI) encompass thorough cross-validation of data, AI testing, verification, and validation. Custom-developed AI/ML algorithms are integrated as AI Engines. Our streamlined team is seeking an AI Operations Engineer who will be primarily accountable for the AI Engines, their integration within the cloud application, and customer interactions.

A successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of our application, customer business scenarios, and the functionality of the AI, facilitating smooth feature development and DevOps processes. Depending on individual interests and experience, this role may evolve towards data engineering, AI Engines, customer business, cloud computing, or product management.

This position will commence as a part-time consulting role at a competitive hourly rate. As your contributions accumulate and the business expands, there will be an opportunity to transition to full-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain AI Engines utilizing core AI functionalities, including AI results presentation, internal and external interfaces, engineering documentation, and AI customization to resolve customer challenges.
  • Assist in data engineering, ensuring data consistency, and preprocessing pipelines that generate AI metadata from raw data.
  • Support scalable AI deployment, including aerospace-grade algorithm verification, test coverage, reporting logic, compilation, and build processes. This will produce object code and resource files that integrate into the DevSecOps pipeline for the cloud application.
  • Collaborate with the cloud software team, treating the Analytics Engine as a black box with a well-defined API.
  • Occasionally engage with customers regarding data issues, interpretation of analysis results, and ultimately, the business value derived from AI analytics.
  • Document and coordinate enhancements for components, products, and processes.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field from a prestigious institution.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with analytical applications, including the development and maintenance of analytical codebases.
  • Proficient in MATLAB.
  • Ability to produce comprehensive documentation, demonstrated through academic, research, professional, or industry publications. Graduate theses or technical papers are acceptable, and GitHub contributions may substitute for technical publications.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and rigor necessary for the development of mission-critical mathematical software.
  • Experience in maintaining Java code.
  • Familiarity with GitHub, including GitHub Actions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in areas such as statistics, optimization, controls, signal processing, applied mathematics, and related practical applications.
  • Knowledge of model-based development and simulation-based verification.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting.
Additional Information

US Citizenship Required: This position necessitates the ability to work with Controlled Unclassified Information for the Department of Defense.
Location: This is a remote position, with a flexible schedule available for full-time or part-time work, requiring a minimum of 10 hours per week.
