About the Team:

The Systems Engineering team at Latitude AI integrates all elements of the autonomy framework. We closely collaborate with software teams to validate the functionalities of the autonomy stack, from sensing and perception to prediction and motion planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a diverse and healthy workplace culture with a strong focus on safety.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop team members in your area of expertise.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in perception technologies.
  • Create requirements and verification strategies for perception hardware.
  • Establish metrics and performance criteria for perception systems.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to perception hardware and software.
  • Define use cases and scenarios that outline the limits of perception capabilities.
  • Collaborate with testing teams to execute in-vehicle assessments.
  • Partner with analytics and data science teams to implement scalable metrics.
  • Develop statistical models to analyze perception failures and provide actionable insights.
  • Prototype tools using Python or C++ to evaluate perception performance.
  • Conduct data-driven evaluations of various options.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience (or a Master's degree with 2+ years, or a PhD).
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently deliver high-priority projects.
  • Experience in environments where safety, integrity, and procedure are paramount.
  • Strong eagerness to acquire new skills in technology and software.
  • Exceptional written communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on safety and procedural adherence.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for work-related purposes.
