Key Responsibilities:

  • Basic computer knowledge is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment for taking radiographic images following established procedures.
  • Follow prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
  • Maintain accurate radiology records as directed and log all procedures completed.
  • Process routine paperwork and files reports.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors according to specification of examination.
  • Follow established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
  • Maintain examination rooms, stock necessary medical and radiologic supplies, and clean and make minor adjustments to radiologic equipment.
  • Schedule routine maintenance and develop and monitor an ongoing QI program with targeted QI aspects of care to be reported on a routine basis.
  • Ensure department compliance with OSHA.
  • Participate in training employees in equipment operation, patient movement, and quality assurance.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
  • Enhance professional growth through education programs, conferences, and workshops.
  • Follow the CHRISTUS Physician Group guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Use oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas in a clear, positive manner that is consistent with the CHRISTUS Mission.
  • Maintain established CHRISTUS Physician Group policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
  • Implement job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the CHRISTUS Mission and Code of Ethics and supportive of CHRISTUS Physician Group's cultural diversity objectives.
  • Support and adhere to CPG Service Guarantee.
  • Perform other related work as required.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of AMA-approved School of Radiological Sciences or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
  • One year of experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.
  • Current state licensure and certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
  • BLS required.
