Job Overview

LOCATION: Sufco Mine


OBJECTIVE: We are seeking an engaging Trainer who will contribute positively to our operations, support the Behavior Based Safety initiative, and provide training for new employees.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Travel alongside new hires to provide hands-on training.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of all mining and surface operations.
  • Design and implement safety-related training programs, including New Hire Orientation, Hazard Awareness, and Annual Refresher Training.
  • Offer support to various teams and actively pursue continuous improvement in ongoing projects.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
  • Exhibit patience and understanding when working with individuals.
  • Maintain a respectful approach in all work-related interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all management levels.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail, with a knack for multitasking effectively.
  • Proficient in computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities, with problem-solving skills both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proven track record of safe work practices is essential.
  • Ability to drive results and meet time-sensitive deadlines is required.
  • Prior MSHA/Instructor training experience (blue card) or the ability to obtain it is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MSHA standards and regulations is advantageous.

REPORTING STRUCTURE: This position reports to the Safety Manager.
