Work Schedule: Onsite Shift Work
Role Responsibilities:
The Specialist will be an integral part of a dedicated team responsible for the monitoring, control, and configuration of a worldwide satellite communications network. This includes overseeing forward-deployed satellite earth terminals and embedded network communications equipment, ensuring seamless transport of full-motion video to remote locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing daily operational support as part of a 24/7 operations center.
- Ensuring stable operation of the internal computer network through planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of all network hardware and software.
- Analyzing and resolving end-user hardware and software issues promptly.
- Conducting user training as necessary.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in delivering presentations and briefings.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor network and space segment performance to provide tier 1 support.
- Oversee the quality of user Full Motion Video (FMV) and escalate issues as needed.
- Track and manage service interruptions to keep users informed.
- Resolve broadband IP communication issues related to satellite transmission.
- Monitor equipment configurations and network performance in real-time.
- Prepare reports on network utilization and performance.
- Manage and update trouble ticketing systems.
- Ensure network connectivity and administer end-user accounts.
- Conduct network audits and capacity planning.
Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
- Minimum of one year of relevant education or experience in network system support.
- Familiarity with IP Routing and trouble ticket tracking.
- Experience with ViaSat Arclight 2 KuSS/KaSS operations.
Experience Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in managing TCP/IP and networking concepts.
- Understanding of SATCOM/RF concepts.
