Job Title: Staff Engineer Systems Architect

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop sensor system architectures and define key capabilities and performance requirements
  • Create, evolve, and maintain the System Architecture that supports customer requirements, cost, and development schedule
  • Develop thorough definition of system interfaces
  • Define the system implementation approach and operational concept
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Perform system performance modeling
  • Lead / oversee technical work products developed by the larger engineering team, supporting design reviews and integration and test activities as needed
  • Support capture activities, including RFI/RFP preparation, customer presentations and demonstrations, and competitor analysis
  • Maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies and developing strategies for their insertion into both legacy and next-generation sensors
  • Develop modifications to existing products to meet unique customer needs, and support / lead the development of next-generation products within a market segment
  • Provide presentations to customers and senior management, with tailored material based on the audience
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and a minimum of 12 years of experience in systems and product development; OR Master's of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and a minimum of 10 years of experience in systems and product development; OR PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 8 years of experience in systems and product development
  • Must have a current/active Secret Clearance and be able to obtain approval of Special Program Access prior to start
  • Willingness to work on-site full-time in a program area
  • Experience with the following topics: RF Systems Engineering, Radar Design / Development, Relevant Algorithm development, Previous MATLAB experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Special Access Program (SAP) Current
  • Leadership experience with development and/or production program execution
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP) experience
  • High proficiency in technical problem solving; to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring
  • Multi-disciplined knowledge in areas related to engineering including systems design, hardware, software and firmware design, integration and test
  • RF or EW technology background with sensors development and implementation experience
