Digital Sales Manager Job Description

Hearst Television is seeking a highly skilled Digital Sales Manager to lead our digital sales initiatives and drive revenue growth.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, including synergies with other media, and have the ability to dissect advertising RFPs, identify key revenue opportunities, and prepare comprehensive and winning responses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individual advertiser account strategies, including revenue goals.
  • Meet with local sales teams to ensure their professional development and success with stated goals.
  • Prepare and lead quarterly sales planning meetings with Local Sales Managers.
  • Evaluate seller performance and provide feedback.
  • Negotiate digital business deals with clients, reviewing key sales proposals in advance to ensure client goals are achieved.
  • Respond to RFP requests and meet client deadlines.
  • Develop and strengthen business relationships with clients and key station vendors.
  • Support local sellers in sales presentations and develop non-traditional revenue and new sales initiatives.
  • Manage digital initiative expense budgets and work with Local Sales Managers and National Sales Manager to achieve stated and strategic goals.
  • Provide training to Local and National sellers and ensure comprehensive sales presentations are available in advance of the selling window.
  • Maintain current and accurate revenue forecasts by account and review and approve new insertion orders.
  • Prepare and present various reports and follow HTV Digital Sales Managers standard operating procedures.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of current digital marketing strategies and synergies with other media.
  • Understanding of pricing and inventory management principles.
  • Ability to dissect advertising RFPs and prepare comprehensive and winning responses.
  • Ability to prospect, meet with, and close business with new station clients.
  • Skills to manage and supervise others.

Qualifications:

  • Strong formal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and AdBook by SatTail, DART, Google Analytics, and Content Marketing.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable automobile required.
  • Related military experience considered.
