Parts Sales Professional

At Doherty Automotive Group, we are seeking a skilled Parts Sales Professional to join our team. As a key member of our parts department, you will be responsible for selling parts to customers, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized parts department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers in selecting required parts and provide recommendations for companion requirements.
  • Pull purchased parts from stock and inform customers of expected delivery dates for out-of-stock items.
  • Answer phone calls, provide price quotes, and capture customer information.
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
  • Verify "will-call" and "back-order" files weekly and return to vendors or stock items not required.
  • Notify customers and the Service Department when parts arrive.
  • Accept cash, check, and credit payments.
  • Assist with organization and cleanliness of the parts department.
  • Receive and stock incoming inventory, verifying receipts against purchase orders.
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts as directed by supervisor.
  • Ensure merchandise displays are stocked, clean, and appealing to customers.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in a vehicle parts department preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Ability to work well with the public.
  • Ability to use personal computer and applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
Working Conditions:

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. You may be required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds of material. You may be exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials, or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle dealership. You may also be exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
