Radiologic Technologist Float Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team as a Float Radiologic Technologist. This position will cover shifts at our Mount Pleasant hospital and in our clinics in Racine County.
Key Responsibilities- Position patients for all exams, ensuring accurate and efficient imaging.
- Perform problem-solving as it relates to physical limitations of patients during patient positioning.
- Review images to determine if additional views are necessary to complete the exam.
- Select and adjust technical factors governing the imaging process.
- Identify artifacts on images and assist in problem-solving.
- Ensure minimal repeat work and maintain annual competencies.
- Operate equipment in a competent manner, modifying technical factors as needed.
- Perform start-up and shut-down procedures on all equipment.
- Ensure images are labeled and marked correctly.
- Inspect equipment daily and report any malfunctions to the leader.
- Perform problem-solving as needed, including equipment malfunctions and physical limitations.
- Responsible for the welfare and care of all patients directly under their control.
- Secure patient history and record on the appropriate form for the radiologist.
- Perform C-Arm and portable exams in the ASC, prioritizing patient care.
- Document Pain Clinic and ASC cases as required.
- Arrive, begin, and end studies in the EMR, entering outside orders as needed.
- Utilize Modality Worklist or select patient in Modality, acquire, and send images to PACS.
- Log into PACS and retrieve the appropriate study.
- Perform QC process for images in PACS.
- Select correct buttons for prior exams and availability.
- Determine if pertinent priors are available in PACS.
- Ensure image link is available and working in the EMR.
- Notify PACS Administrator or assistant of any issues.
- Attend and participate in department meetings.
- Maintain required CME credits.
- Maintain current ARRT certification/registration and IEMA licensure.
- Participate in problem-solving to improve department quality.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Provide direction to new staff and staff in need of assistance.
- Contribute to department performance goals.
- Complete required classes in ATMS.
- Stock rooms as needed.
- Assist other staff as needed.
- Participate in patient education.
- Participate in QC/QA testing, notifying supervisor when testing exceeds boundaries.
- Graduate of AMA-approved school/program of Radiologic Technology.
- Knowledge of radiology procedures and equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous outpatient service preferred.
- Basic computer skills with proficiency in multiple programs.
- ARRT and IEMA licensure.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials.
- May be exposed to life-threatening diseases.
- Flexible in a changing environment.
- Ability to lift and/or move patients.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions.
- Able to make independent professional decisions.
- Travel between work assignments if necessary.
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Responds positively to requests to work on short notice.
- Flexible in start and end times.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
