Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures, communicating with patients, and ensuring the quality of radiographs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
  • Identify patients, label images, and compare requisitions to physician's orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Process images, ensure quality of radiographs, and call back patients as necessary.
  • Assist, communicate, and consult with Radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and patient care.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Document billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • No experience required.
Working Conditions

This is a 3rd shift position, working 4-10 hour days overnight Monday through Thursday. The shift starts at 21:00 till 07:00. You will be required to stand/walk for the majority of the day and lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist. You may be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids.
