Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures. You will work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiologic procedures, including positioning patients, selecting exposure factors, and providing radiation protection and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures, obtaining clinical history, and addressing questions or concerns.
  • Identify patients, label images, and compare requisitions to physician's orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Process images, ensuring quality of radiographs, and call back patients as necessary.
  • Assist physicians, communicate, and consult with them as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain records, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes of procedures performed.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and/or preceptor for students and staff, and assist with accreditation efforts.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
Working Conditions

This is a casual position covering open shifts in the X-Ray department at the local clinics as needed. Mostly days and evenings or weekend day shifts. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
