Job Title: Food Service Technician

COMHAR, Inc. is a not-for-profit community-based health and human service organization founded in 1975. We are seeking a skilled Food Service Technician to join our team at our Long Term Structured Residences (LTSR) in Easton, PA.

Job Summary:

The Food Service Technician will work from a recovery framework to provide assistance in building cooking skills, nutritional meal plan education, cultural competence, and trauma-informed care to help individuals achieve their recovery goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing residents' meals, ensuring a balanced and nutritious diet, and maintaining proper documentation of special diets.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve meals to residents, ensuring a balanced and nutritious diet
  • Maintain proper documentation of special diets and food allergies
  • Partner with nursing staff and individuals to ensure that nutritious meals are prepared and planned
  • Train individuals in nutrition, menu planning, food preparation, and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, kitchen appliances, and storage areas
  • Order and shop for food supplies in partnership with individuals
  • Ensure that all food purchasing is in compliance with budgetary provisions
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Safe Serve Certificate
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
